Career opportunities on opposite sides of the
world can mean professional couples have to spend
prolonged periods apart. Take Ann for instance.
She lives in Hong Kong, while her boyfriend Tom
works in the US. They can only meet about three
times a year and they miss each other very much.
Ann usually corresponds with Tom via email and she
loves to use V-mail also. The only problem is the
big time difference between their two countries.
Because of her busy schedule, evenings are usually
the best time for a chat, but often when she really
wants to speak to Tom in the US, it's too early
on his side of the world to call him.
But now she has worked out a way she can easily
connect with Tom during the day. Ann has learned
that most Pacific Coffee Company shops are equipped
with a NetStation. She can pop into the coffee shop
in the morning, at lunchtime or in the evening after
work for a quick chat.
Ann is especially pleased that the station has installed
Webcams, enabling her to chat with Tom face-to-face
with the help of NETVIGATOR's value-added service
NETSee. It is almost like being with him every day,
even though they are continents apart.
She can also use NETVIGATOR's NETMail service
to send or receive V-mail - even if it is 5MB, the
size is no problem. And, if Tom isn't online, she
can use NETMessenger to send SMS, so that he can
receive her messages immediately via his mobile.
Ann and Tom feel that if they cannot actually be
together, then linking up on NetStation is the next
best thing.
